Its been very very windy here by the sea, but at last yesterday we had a still day and sun….. the snowdrops are out in my tubs and on the lawn and my minature daffodils are out too. Just had a walk round the garden and was surprised to see the violets have come out already…. and the wall flowers are in bud, i have seen some out in a neighbours garden.

Been glorious here too Holly. Long may it continue. Seeing the first spring flowers out and the new buds starting to fill up is a heartening sight.
Toulouse our nearest city is having it's violet festival this weekend - plants, perfumes, toiletries and foodstuffs all made from violets. Heaven

It's been like that down here, too. Yesterday my husband took his hedgecutter to the grasses by the stream because the new shoots have begun to push through - then he had a bonfire...Oh dear - due to lack of wind, the smoke drifted all round our hamlet - everybody knew what he'd been up to! Lots of bulbs are in flower now. It's also very noticeable that the days are getting longer! Hooray! Good forecast on local TV just now, too.
