As its stopped Raining & No frost on ground today i deceided 2 plant My Apple Tree i purchased Last Week, I read up all about Planting Apple Trees last night as iv never done it b4 so i felt conferdent enough to do it today :)
This is My Tree with 10 Good Branches all spaced well ,
It had 2 be Prunned to 4 Branches @an Outward Bud ! This is the result ,
I Prunned it b4 planting as i didnt want 2 Poke My Eyes Out On Those Long Branches ,Once id done all this i got everything together that i needed 2 do the Job & placed it where the tree was going to be planted ,Some where it dont get Water Logged as they dont like to much water !
So now 2 get Digging , I took out a Circle of Grass & dug to the Pots Dept as they shouldnt be planted any deeper than what they were in the pot
Next i removed all the Weeds that were growing In The Pot aroud the Tree ,i Found Something Specail Growing below them2but thats another Blog/Story ;)
I placed in the Apple Tree Firming The Soil as i did so & of Course the Stake was added just b4 filling so i could see it was`nt harming The Tree Roots,The Finished Result with The Tree Tie in Place to Stop Wind Damage :)

Well done Jacque, do you ever sit down!!! I think you may get apples before you get walnuts, lol. Looks like you've done a professional job and wow, your soil looks nice. D

Oh, Jacque. I just left a comment on your photos about what kind of tree is this? Now I know. I obviously read the blog and pictures the wrong way around. Ooops.
Excellent work. You have done well. I hope you get lots of lovely apples.

Good job well done Jacque,I am also curious about what you found and if you fancy pruning I have 2 very large apple trees desperate for a haircut.,lol.

Jacque - you would find the tree will establish better without that grass replaced around it. This will allow the rain to reach the roots and reduce competition for food in the soil

Thanx Andrewr i put the Grass back on top as i thought the frost mite harm its roots? But if u say its best removed il do that in Morning :) Thanx Again 4 your Help x

It's great to have a new apple tree Jacque. I wonder if it will produce fruit this year.

Well done Jacque....lovely juicy apples braeburns....our blackbirds would love them !

Yes, I agree with Andrew. When our tree surgeon planted our new Ash tree 2 years ago, he left a large circle and mulched it with bark, as well. So now, whenever I plant trees I do the same - he is the expert after all.
I hope it grows well and produces apples soon - well, soon in apple tree years, anyway!

Well, I had to learn that, so I thought I'd pass it on. I am not an expert, just a learner like you, Jacque!

J: You'll be producing cider before you know where you are, lol. Or probably you've just grown it so the birds benefit from the droppers, lol.

Well done, Jacque, you have been very busy. Very intrigued to know what else was growing in the pot but I will be patient. Look foward to seeing pictures of first apples on the tree. You also made me feel guilty because I have still to plant my 2 winter jasmines :)
