24 Aug, 2009

I havent got a clue Jacque but its very nice.
All I have in my laurels are wasps - I think they have a nest in there.
My robin vanished for months too Sandra and he re-appeared last week. I fed him his meal worms this morning.

Ray says they skulk away during their moulting period. I must admit, my robin looks very handsome, presuming he's male of course.

Jacque: I think we need to move to Norfolk :-)

Our robins disappeared about 3 weeks ago too after their 3rd attempt at babies. I shall look out for them again now.
No Idea what sort of nest that is either Jacque.

24 Aug, 2009

I think you were right with wren Jacque as they commonly build nests with side entrances .. the poor male can build up to 6 nests for Mrs Wren to choose from oh know that feeling when house hunting ..lol

Of course it was nice for you today Sandra and bet it was nice in Dublin too once those wicked ladies got their heads together ...

Ooooooo im now wondering Ray if its the Nest Of The Wren Family i saw In My Nettle area 1 day few months back ? would that be the time of them fledgeing Ray? Norfolk is good 4 esaceing Showers Dawn /San :) & itd be great 2 have u as neighbours just think how we could play dear Ray up lol :)

24 Aug, 2009

Oh now then Jacque ..got enough to contend with I ll soon be in Totos shed at this rate or the other end of Milkys settee lol

As regards your wrens yes we had little fleglings here around May could even be earlier with you and that lovely Norfolk weather.

Read that during very harsh winters as many as 60 little wrens found huddled together in one nest to keep warm .. bless them.

24 Aug, 2009

AAwwwwwwww 60 little Wrens in 1 nest how cosy :) U best keep your Socks on if your going to share Milkys sofa lol :) & we`l need to find u a nice white Jacket b4 u join Toto LOL :)

24 Aug, 2009

Aw Jacque your so sweet .. who else could make being locked in a shed with Toto sound so appealing ? lol

24 Aug, 2009

:) well u dont want 2 look out of place now do u ? :) lol & think how happy Toto will be when he sees u dressed in the same clothes AWwwwwwwww :)

24 Aug, 2009

You're comments above are making me giggle.
Norfolk sounds like a sunshine haven Jacque.
Ray - well I think you'd be happier on the other end of Milky's sofa rather than in Toto's shed as you would be soooo well cared for and less restricted!

You lot over in the East have been sooooo lucky! My daughter keeps telling me what lovely weather she's got - well, I'm still waiting for summer! :-((

I like wrens, Jacque - such lovely little birds! How nice if you've got fledglings around. :-)

Hi Spritz The Little Family Have gone now & the only reason i did notice them when they were here was They all made so much Noise over a few days when the baby was hopping about on The Nettles ect :)

24 Aug, 2009

BB it was nice for us today, i've got quite a good tall hadge of laurel with plenty of bird boxes in but no of them as been used, always next year.

24 Aug, 2009

24 Aug, 2009

Yes I think I would go with the wren too Jacque but I did think at first it looked a little bit like a finch nest. I hope the weather gets a little better tomorrow, it's not looking good tho', we are planning a trip to the Welsh Mountain Zoo and taking the grandkids, do you think they will accept them? :o)))

25 Aug, 2009

very lovely nest Jacque I don't see to many nests here in the city only if I decide to take a walk with my kids through the blue hills( a foresty peice of hilly land where most city people go for a hike in my neck of the woods)

25 Aug, 2009

25 Aug, 2009

Just seen the weather forecast for tomorrow Jacque, there is the last vestiges of hurricane Bill coming in tonight and it will be very wet and windy everywhere, so will have to cancel the zoo trip. :o(((
