I've one of these, Jacque, and it looks very much like yours. I am hoping to move mine (not sure when will be the best time) as it's sitting in a very wet spot. They are so beatiful I would hate to lose it.

Is yours very big Gee ? they say their Slow Growers? Its finding a settled spot 2plant mine as my garden is so open & the Wind blows like mad through it :(

24 Nov, 2009

could you protect it with some fleece while bad weather jacque and Gee

24 Nov, 2009

Thats a great idea San maybe i could :) That way i can still plant it where i wanted to plant it 2start with XXX

24 Nov, 2009

Did that make sense ??? lol :)

24 Nov, 2009

Is it still in that plastic pot Jacque ? Maybe it would flower better if you planted it in the ground. ( just a thought :o)

It will be worth waiting for Jaque , it's lovely to have a gift that you can appreciate for year to come :o)

Mine is about 4 foot high now, Jacque, but it just isn't doing very well in my front garden, only gets evening sun and a very frosty pocket in the winter. I did have it in a pot for a year or two and then planted it out but in completely the wrong place :(
I might move it into the back garden so it can keep my new rowan tree company :)

24 Nov, 2009

Its forecst sunny spells here 2morw Hywel!! IF im quick @ Digging/Planting im sure il get it in ;) Iv always loved these Trees Amy thats why Phil brought it 4 me :) I think Rowan trees r great 2 Gee :)

24 Nov, 2009

I've waited years for my rowan tree so I have to keep going out to look at it and everyone who visits has to walk down the garden (regardless of weather) to be introduced to it :)

24 Nov, 2009

Where i once lived i could see 3 Rowan Trees from my lounge window & they looked Fantastic with all their Berrys & Wonderful Leafs :) If i had 1 id show it off to ;)

24 Nov, 2009

They're great for wildlife, Jacque, and one would look lovely on the edge of your wildflower meadow :)

24 Nov, 2009

Now theres a Thought Gee :)

24 Nov, 2009

Gee - magnolias hate being moved. If you have to do it, I would suggest early spring gives you the most chance of success but if it is four feet tall, even that would be mighty 'iffy'

24 Nov, 2009

Love the close ups, it looks very healthy. I moved mine from the front garden to the back some few years ago but unfortunately it didn`t like the move and I lost it, so I would think carefully about where you want to site it.

24 Nov, 2009

well worth waiting 4......Magnolias are beautiful... but slow growing....

25 Nov, 2009

Thanx all 4 your comments :)

Oh dear, Andrew, I am between the devil and the deep blue sea! I am worried about losing it because it is sitting in very waterlogged soil and lichen is growing over it too. Help, what shall I do?
