Amaryllis Growing Very Fast ???

Jacque - I am taking photos of my second one, and it's doing exactly the same. I shall post the photos soon, when it flowers, as it's a bit like Jack and the Beanstalk, isn't it. Don't worry - it's perfectly normal. Just move it into a cooler room when it flowers so that they last a bit longer. :-)))

I'll post a mini-blog Jacque. They really do grow so fast, don't they - you can almost watch them grow!

Not yet though! LOL. Mind you, the rate it's growing (two stems!) it won't be too long!

Perfectly normal when conditions are right Jac......don't forgt the growing suggestions in the GoYpedia page......:))

Since I brought mine into the warmth they have grown like mad!!

Yes Jacque , like Spriyz ans Amblealice have said they do grow fast once they start. They always surprise me how quickly they grow. I'm looking forward to seeing your flowers when they open

No Hywel i have`nt thats why i was so worried that maybe id given this Plant the rong compost/to much heat & made it Bolt ! Im going to take Lots&lots of Pics when its Flowering :)

Great ! I will look forward to them. This is the first year for me not to have one for a very long time. I have pics of one I had when I lived in the old cottage. I'll try to find them. It was a bright red flower .

Love Red Flowers :) I almost Purchased a Red Amaryllis from Tesco other wk Hywel as theyd gone down 2 just £2.50!!! i opened the Box to peak @ the Bulb inside & found its growing Tip was broken Off :( That must of been the reason that it was the last 1 on the Shelf ? :/

That's a shame. I have been trying to find my old pics so that I can scan them in. They are in a cupboard and there is so much junk I'll have to look through it lol

Iv a Cupboard like that Hywel do u have to quickly close the Door ? lol :)

Some cupboards when I open the door everything falls out :D Then I have to push it all back in and shut the door quickly lol
It's worse now since I have stuff from my mother's house aswell. I will have to sort it out one day lol

The Cupboard i have probs with is Full Of Gardening Mags,Gardening Books,Old Videos & DVDs !!! Im forever tidying it but some how its just all falls forward b4 i close the door Hywel ? Maybe the Shelf inside are Wonky ;) lol
