Kielder Forest - 13.March 2010

We have just spent the weekend of our 34th anniversary in the spectacular Kielder Forest area, including National Trust sites at Cragside and Wallington, seen below. Perfect spring weather made this a great break. It seems to have put a smile on Mary’s face anyway!

Thanks Drc726. There are reputedly, red squirrels in this area but we didn't see any this time. Did get a good sighting of a goshawk though. JB

Wallington Hall is a lovely place did you go into the house? lots of school trips here it was always popular rain or shine.

Hi Mavisc52, Yes, Wallington Hall is a great place to visit but as the weather was so good, we did not see inside the house this time. The gardens were magnificent though.
