Is that the blue orchid I see just the edge of? I love that orchid. Would love to see a full picture of it. They are fairly uncommon.

How do you get your Vandas to flower again, please? I had one for Christmas last year and it looks healthy, but has no sign of any flowers.
Bathgate, I saw blue Moth Orchids in a shop this week and they were dyed. :-((

Hi all, the flower spikes do take a while to produce flowers, but worth the wait as the flowers last for ages. I don't feed mine at all and they tend to flower twice a year although sometimes they take a year or so off for reasons best known to themselves. I did post a picture of the blue one a couple of months back when it flowered last time. I have seen the dyed moth orchids they will come back white I believe. I must say I prefer something a bit more unusual, and my favourite has a flower spike growing will post when it opens, it is an oncidium butterfly. It has one flower on a long stem, bright orange and really does look like a butterfly, when finished the flower drops off and is followed by another. This goes on for months . Also I have one that was brought back for me as a bulb from Madeira. The scent is so strong when in flower it fills the house, but only flowers once a year at around xmas time and only lasts a couple of weeks I think I have a photo will try to post later

OK I thought I was looking at the Vanda Blue Orchid in the upper left corner, which is an actual blue orchid and not dyed.

hi, yes Bathgate it is an undyed vanda although I would describe it as purple and not a true blue. However it is a lovely flower and each bloom is about the size of the palm of your hand

I agree, it's very striking

That was what mine was like last Christmas. It shows no sign of any new flowers - yet!
