Back the garden centre for the umpteenth time in the past few weeks, watching some pretty expensive plants, waiting for them to lose their leaves, (they will cut the price of them) and eureka, came back with Euonymous Alatus, (a must have) , Kolkwitzia, (hmm maybe), and Robinia Pseudoacacia Frisia, (wow), all for less than a tenner, Frisia alone worth £25.00 so bring on the autumn colour cant wait for a decent dry day to get them in, I have to say Michela’s garden has given me inspiration for a more sophisticated approach to my garden, so thanks for that Michela, I have a vague semblance of a plan which will see autumn colour forming the basis of my garden to the rear of the house but with half an eye on summer interest starting with, nearest pond, fatsia japonica, restio, arum miscanthus zebrinus , then the new Euonymous,Alatus (when it’s planted) followed by phyllostacis negra, then choisia sundance, cotinus cocciggria after that is camellia donation, then (when planted) Robinia frisia, followed by sambucus (black) acer palmatum atropopurium, and various choice plants for the under planting such as trycirtus hirta, hostas, ferns, well maybe I’ll just have to get a picture on the site when I’ve got the courage to post one, but at the moment it is still very much a work in progress

I can understand why Michaela and her garden have given you so much inspiration. She is full of good ideas about plants and designs.
Looking forward to hearing about your progress. Don't feel pressured about uploading photos. Take your time and whenever you feel ready, we'll be pleased to take a look.

Why is it that the GCs I visit don't cut the prices of their plants?
Lovely selection there, John. Can't wait to see the photos!
BTW, I love my Kolkwitzia.
