we pulled our onions today and its a bountiful crop. lovely large red onions and good groups of shallots.
I have laid them under the car port spread out to dry. What the best way to store them once they are ready to be put away for use?

My father did that aswell. When I was little I would never eat them after they'd been in there - and they called me a fussy b****r lol.
Myself I always tie them in strings like JohnnyOnions :o) I haven't got any this year. They've bolted so I'm going to throw them in the recycling tip !

My grandad used to pop them in old tights or stockings, tying a knot between each one ,then hang them up somewhere dry, he used to grow loads and they lasted for months, his shallots were also hung in nets....
