the return of the squirrel
8 comments
Hi
Back in 2009 there was a squirrel about and it was nesting nicely in our neighbours wall cavity. They revamped the loft and the squirrel moved on today I saw it hopping along the fence between the gardens ( not sure its the same one) but it was nice to see. I helps its self to our tomatoes and next doors plums.
What with the fox about, the toads, moths, bats and slow worms I feel we are living on a nature reserve of our own.

My daughter moved into her home 11mths ago and all through the winter a squirrel visited her birdfeeders, I got some great photo`s of it, hasn`t been seen all summer but she is hoping to see it when the weather changes we all like to have visiters to our gardens as well.....

Foxes and squirrels? Thank you I have more than enough to ruin my garden. I do not know about other creatures as I do not circulate at night to see them. Νonetheless I do like birds in the garden especially the friendly robins.

Alas although sweet to look at the Grey Squirrel is wiping out our native much cuter Red Squirrel.

thanks for your comments. It has been another good day in the gardens today we had a dragonfly land on the bird table. John wasn't quick enough to get the camera.
not seen the fox for a few days now.
Plenty of cabbage butterflies noshing into the cabbage patch.Sadly got to spray the area or we will have no greens for the winter.

Lets hope the Grey Devil stays outside. Our bat population has decreased badly, we hardly see any now. I think it's because the old barn just down the lane has been converted. It's the same with the Barn Owl, no sightings this year, although there are Little and Tawney around.
