Hello, Klahanie and everybody, who has problems with deers invading their gardens.
I have found list of herbs and plants which deers despise. They are:
Rosemary
Thyme
Sage
Oregano
Goldenrod
Horehound
Anise Hyssop
Barberry
Lavender
Basil
Tarragon
Parsley
By planting these herbs and plants amongst your deer loving plants, you are simply discouraging deer from entering your garden. It might not work on 100 % but worth to try.

Hello Katarina.
That is a good list. I have all of these. Deer will not eat these but will not be shy to eat the plants beside them. At least my deer.
I tried to plant alliums (ornamental onions) between my roses and it did not help. :-( I also tried lavender between tulips and guess what...all tulips are gone. Planted daffodils instead. They will not eat them.
Thanks goodness that my herb garden does not have to be protected.
