well we have to say goodbye to the summer, the nights are drawing in and the evenings are getting cooler, nice to have the late summer we are having now,but its time to plant up for the spring,my favourite season.i have plenty of bulbs (crocus, daffodil etc.)to go in soon,i also have just taken delivery of 160 can can pansie mini plugs, from holland, and have repotted into larger pots, now in my little greenhouse protected from direct sunlight.these are by far the prettiest of pansies, ideal for bedding baskets or troughs.any other winter/spring colour suggestions would be welcome!,hope to post results when flowered.

Me too, got lots of bulbs to go in soon, if it stops raining !! I only play in fair weather ! Think I like Autumn best followed by Spring.

Yep I'm bulb planting too, and planting out pansies grown from seed. My problem is I cut back my bedding plants hard, (more than dead heading) just before the nice weather and I'm getting a second showing so I don't want to plant out my wallflowers as I need to remove the bedding plants. I'll wait two weeks, what a dilema.

I don't say goodbye to summer until the end of September at least because it's usually summery and warm here until then - quite often mid October before it cools off considerably.
I've bought and planted bulbs though :-)))
I too love to see colour in the garden on the dreary winter days, i make sure i've got colour in December and January because for 'me', they're my most dreary and drab months !

I've been buying bulbs aswell but I only have miniature ones now since moving to this smaller garden. I hope you get a nice display from yours. I like the spring best too.
