I’ll need some time to catch up blogs, photos and work (perish the thought) although I feel I could do with another holiday to get over 3 weeks of Florida theme parks. Its been very hot and at times soooo humid which seems to suck the energy out of you.
Any way while i was away I treated myself to a complete irrigation system for the garden. we had tried to install one earlier this year but the cost was prohibited – but it dawned on me that in florida I had noticed on previous visits that everything was watered automatically – so a visit to the Home Depot (b+Q) I was able to get the whole system for a third of the cost – now I’ve just got to install it.
there was another surprise when I got home, a letter telling me I had won a section in Garden News gardening comptition for Best Newcomer. The judges had visited me just before i went on holiday – I’m glad they aren’t due now my poor garden looks awful – 3 weeks growth on a well fed lawn, pots dry and blown over etc etc what a mess and a lot of work to get it back right, but at least its Autumn now and a good time to clear out.

I need an irrigation system too, me poor clems next to the wall have really suffered to lack of water, even watering everyfew days in the dry weather.
Have been told irrigation pipes are much cheaper on line. Just hope I can remember how to set it up!!

Congratulations Kay for a very good result in the competition, thats a smashing letter to receive, hope you get the garden sorted, I always think it looks better as soon as you get the lawns cut again, still growing like mad here
Good thinking buying the irrigation system whilst over there especially with a saving like that....

The best patio is featured in Garden News this week, and then I think its Best Container next, and then I think its my turn - I hate having my photo taken.
I've now cut the grass about 4 times and its starting to look better -the grass is lush so perhaps the 3 weeks without any cutting did it good. I must get to the garden centre/nursery and get some new flowers and repot the baskets.

My garden will appear in the next issue 22nd Nov - I'm dreading seeing it -lol.
