I take a walk along a cycle path near where I live quite often , there are a lot of buddleia’s bushes
along the route and they are looking really good the flowers are large and colourful but I have stood and looked for butterflies every time I pass 4 times this week and not one butterfly I have seen , so as I heard this week on television that they are seriously in decline I have to agree . and there are none in my garden though there are plenty of plants for them such a sad summer without them .

I saw 4 today, 2 admirals & 2 coppers, at least I hope it wasn't the same 2 flying by. I've seen a few cabbage whites as well, we leave nettles along the hedge for them & plenty of nectar flowers too but as you say they aren't the numbers we used to see.

I've see one large white and a couple of speckled woods and one red admiral. I passed a row of buddlejas on Sunday and not one butterfly - very sad.

I wonder how many people know that Butterflies like to lay their eggs under wet leaves why I spray my leaves when watering plants since the Butterfly conservation enlightened me of this in an email. I have seen a few lots of whites plus Grafton flies it getting a photo quick enough before they fly off being in my chair its hard not to disturb them.

I've seen quite a few here in Kent, but probably not as many as there used to be. Not a lot of cabbage whites though and we usually get loads of those.

Lots of Skippers and very small white ones here.
Chemical sprays also decimate insects. I try not to use them.

I've only seen three butterflies this year, two of those were yesterday, a peacock and one white,my Buddhlia's are just coming into flower so perhaps I will see more, no ladybirds at all, cannot remember the last time I saw a grasshopper in the garden, I put that down to me having the time for mowing the lawn every week, unlike pre-retirement days when it sometimes had to last for a fortnight, also I haven't seen any ants at all yet, perhaps that will change now we've had some rain, plenty of bees this year though...

We have also seen very few butterflies this summer which is sad. We did however see a rare Fritillary yesterday at Rosemoor Gardens. I miss seeing ladybirds, what has become of them?

There have been a few more these past few weeks. I had three tortoishells on some Sedums and one or two on the Eryngiums. But the whites got to the kale before I noticed - disaster...

Same here ... I've only seen one white butterfly this year along a hedgerow, but none in my garden. When I think of all the different species there were years ago I get worried that they will all die out soon. I have only seen one Lady Bird in the past 10 years or so, and they were very common once. Grasshoppers - well you just don't hear them now.
