ive just got back from sedgefeild car boot, ive splashed out £13 on a push mower(ive always wanted one)well i want to complain, when you see them on tv in those nice country films, they just walk with them, just sort of float along with immaculate lawns and its always sunny and delightful, well i think ive broke my back pushing it and im sweating buckets AND THE GRASS KEEPS GROWING so im mowing just about every four days,i cant do this twice a week its killing me and it keeps raining on me,im all red in the face and not floaty light in a pretty dress with matching hat and handbag(i will stop eating fig rolls soonish),is it too much to ask, chris

A big advantage of the push mower over the electric mower is that you can mow the grass whilst it is raining. The poor people who only have an electric mower just have to sit indoors with a glass of wine - poor them.

Since you bought it out of the boot,I would probably check and make sure the mower is sharp and well oiled. It takes some oomph to run it at best, but it's even worse when the MOWER is the one out of condition!

Oh,the memories of this brings tears to my eyes, especially as our lawn was on a slope.Lol.I used to have to cut my mum's ,and it was such hard work. This became a job for OH,when we got married..but I still did the edges..I like that bit.:o)

I´d love to have a push mower, especialy if I only had to pay 13 quid it..(sorry my german keyboard doesn´t have the pound key on it), but the lawn has to be fairly flat with no humps and bumps in it...like mine. I like going to car boot sales, but the problem here in germany is that the people don´t do it for fun anymore, they are out to make a profit and are asking extrodinary high prices for things...more than that you would pay in shops for them...and if the things are old they think that they are antiques and ask even more. Maybe I will try ebay..hihi.
