its been 11mths since I was on here,I became very depressed and was off work 9mths and became very reclusive,im now back at work and doing ok,I totaly abandoned my garden and i loved my garden,so for the past mth ive worked my socks off and cleared as much as i can and saved what i could,ive only one problem thats realy bugging me CATS useing my newly cleared garden as a litter tray and would appreciate some advice,ive got some pics this morning hope you like them,chris
my veggie patch,turnips,lettuce and toms and my raspberrys
building a wall and it will all have to be terraced im not digging out the rubbish.
what i still have to clear,bramble patch
and my iris that i planted 5yrs ago its flowering at last,think its purple.
also ive bought three types of angelica to attract the bees and flutterbyes,does anyone grow this and what conditions does it need,thankyou chris

welcome back and I am sorry that you have been so unwell. Cats are a problem for me too. until I plant I clear the soil then walk over it to re-compact it [weed free]. the cats don't tend to use it then. a water pistol is also a good temporary scarer.

someone suggested t bags soaked in lemon,mmmm or jeyes fluid not sure thats safe,i have noticed seaburngirl that the soil ive compacted down they have not touched,and thanks missed this site so much,it looks dark on my clematis pic coz its 4am just thought i would say lol

Sounds as though you've had a tough time - its good to hear you are coming out of the dark time - only a short absence really lets the weeds grow but weeding is so therapeutic...(!)
Once you have it all planted up and full of plants again there will be nothing to attract the cats. You can keep them off precious spaces by using rose prunings or similar.

You have your work cut out but I'm sure it's a good way of working your way well again. Gardening is very Theraputic, I find. Good for mind, body and soul, I like to think.

ty paulspatch,i find gardening helps a great deal and theres all the days out instead of sitting looking at the walls,the dogs helped a great deal too,now ive learnt my lesson and dont worry as much.I just stop to smell the roses,and they are beautiful.

Glad you are feeling better Christine,Its hard going in the garden when you have been ill,so take it slow, and take good care of yourself.Sorry I have same problem with cats.
