ALLOTISSEMENT DES QUATRE SAISONS

To keep you updated with the allotment was very put off by certain people who could not wait to tell us off for putting the padlock on the wrong way!!! That we had a lot to learn!!!!! not allowed to walk between the plots….. thought I work in Social Care and this was like being at work and most unfriendly so pulled back and lost interest after christmas, as the place to bring peace… and solitude had a very different side to it!!
But dusted myself down and now painted the shed and very happy with my yellow wellies purchased this week in Poundland they were flying off the counter will possibly do wild strawberry in them not sure yet. Pototes chitting and also added a little bit of history to the inside of the shed DIG FOR VICTORY propaganda…. Have a stove and hot choc and coffee in there for when people come over as I am a real socialable person…. unless your name is ALAN!!! who knows it all..
Onion sets to go in and growing leeks, sprouts, tomatoes at home in the dining room ready to go up!!!
It really is quite addictive this allotment lark but have grown my own for several years at home just ran out of space… and there are awards with all the other sites in the borough and our site always comes runner up Silver Gilt and the site Rep wants the gold and encourages people to keep their plots up!!!

February snow!!

YELLOW WELLIE POTS FROM POUNDLAND AND MY MUMS OLD BENCH AND MY WELCOME SIGN ON THE SHED….HOME FROM HOME

inside with my Dig for Victory propaganda

Well your site looks really tidy. As a teacher in the past, I always found that if I won over the main problem individual the rest of the group fell into place. Offer ALAN a hot chocolate or coffee and make him feel bad.

It all looks very neat and tidy and I was very impressed with your shed, both inside and out, mine only stays like that for about a day and thats when it gets summer cleaned, can`t be done in springtime as its too busy a time.
I`m glad you didn`t let the " know it all crowd "put you off, if you are working your plot, keeping it tidy, plus paying the rent I don`t see what right they have to issue orders, I know there are always rules and regulations but a wrong way around padlock, whats that all about????

I think its the old guys who dont like change or new folks coming on ...anything to moan about..they dont moan about a woman who has been there years on ours that leaves everything all over the path (scissors, spades all sorts of stuff )..my moan over ..lol

looking good, go for it!!
a few years ago i used to help someone with their allotment, dug the whole thing over for them and remember a couple of folk saying i was doing it all wrong!! (wiht thier hands on thier hip ; ) hehe (actually I was doing it just fine). There however were lots of nice folk who offered us loads of stuff so i am sure they will be coming up to you.
PS just be careful 'ALAN' doesn't read this!! lol

This is my 32nd year allotment gardening. We always know when there is a new tenant, the gate padlock and chain is put on the wrong way round, deuce of a job to change it. Ha ha.
There is an unwritten rule on allotments ' Keep your head down' means concentrate on your own plot.
Later on you will find other tenants will offer you their spare plants, just introducing themselves, being friendly.
I am deaf, hearing aids cause soreness in the ear passage if worn all the time. So I take them out. Its a great relief to feel the fresh air in my ear passages. I just wave to people as they go by.
This season I am sowing Lupin seeds to grow plants to put into wider gaps between my rows to conserve moisture because of the drought threat. This works well with 600,000 farmers in Africa. Their maize crop has trebled, may elimate the starvation in that country.
