About me

Retired ex Londoner and now get most of my exercise thumping up and down my garden on a steep south facing slope. I am well protected from northerly winds in a narrow river valley.
Here on the lower slopes of Exmoor the winters are mainly mild and wet with usually no more than a couple of weeks of frost. I tend to chose hardy evergreen shrubs that can take the wet and frost as I hate loosing plants during the winter. I have recently scrapped my greenhouse and now mainly use cold frames for propagating and bringing on plants.
Started with a bare hillside which was once a potato field, later an orchard. Now mostly terraced and landscaped with hardy fuchsias, hydrangeas, popular evergreen shrubs and herbs.
Enjoy propagating and am lucky to have a local farm shop which takes some of my products.
