Wow ... talk about having several seasons in one day. We get days like that over here too ... but without the snow. I lived in Suffolk (Clare) for several years quite a while ago, & I do recall my garden looking like that, after a promising start to the day. Shame about your mini greenhouses.

Urgh!! You have my sympathies, Lin...I hope that your mini-greenhouses can be saved.

My garden looked like that several times over the weekend, but as soon as the shower had passed it was brilliant sunshine...I was in and out of the house like a yoyo!!.

It is horrible the weather at the minute. Hope it hasn't done too much damage and you can get what it has damaged sorted out without a lot of messing about.

Oh dear Lin, that was some storm and must have been hard to split your g'house covers, we are still getting lots of showers and they really are hard but at least we are getting some sun now as well, very wet to work in though, hope your plants are ok...
You can buy a tape from Homebase that will mend the covers, if they are not too bad, its for plastic g'houses, I had to buy some because an idiot with an airgun damaged two panels on my big one....

OMG . . . we had hail too, but not as bad as your hail! Really sorry about the greenhouses :(((

Hailstones from hell!!!! That's a shame about your wee greenhouse - I do hope they are repairable!

Thanks to you all for your kind comments....what a day that was. It seemed that the hailstones were just freezing together into great big lumps and then were falling from the upstairs windowsills,and off of the roof with such a bang, and the ice was still there this morning where it had drifted along the bottom of the shed door. Dont fancy any more hail storms like that again. OH went out today and bought some replacement covers and they have now been replaced, but although it has been lovely and sunny today, the wind has been freezing here by the coast,Brrr!! We were frozen when we came in. I also discovered this morning that its broken loads of my new clematis shoots knocked loads of my buds from the evergreen clematis and its just started opening, blossom everywhere which hasnt long been open and my poor daffs look like they
've been strangled. Also damaged is about 3 heucheras, and my lovely aubretia that was gorgeous the day before is looking really sorry for itself...looks as though it got frozen . Hate to think what else I will find when I look again tomorrow. it was too cold today to carry on looking so I came in and hugged the radiator !!!!!

I wondered if anyone could recommend a good steamer for floors and upholstery, as I am looking to buy one, but have heard that some arn't very good. I was going to ask this question on the 'Ask a Question' but it states that anything not to do with gardening will be deleted. so thought I would try on here. Has anyone bought one that they could recommend....Thanks! :o)

Sorry cannot help re the steamer, sorry to read about your greenhouse, I really do not understand what is going on with the weather at the moment, it has rained all day here with gale force winds, and looking at the forcast it is going to be doing that for some time, hey ho!!
