This plant "Alien" and I cannot understand why I did not add the name (sorry) is Odontophorus nanus, a mesemb.
I think we like to give things identity and these would definitely fall in with scary alien movies and alike! My own "rocky horror show" - "Feed me, Seymour! Feed me all night long!" Hehe!

If that plant made a noise, I would be "persona non grata" or the plant if had the guts to go in the grow house!!
Actually it is a soft velvety plant to the touch, the teeth are firm but not sharp...so no worries!

What is that, its a very strange looking one, lol, some of my pond oxygenating plants always bring to mind "The Day of the Triffids" quite a mild film by todays standards but it frightened the life out of me when I was a kid....
