I was interested to hear about the plant on the GW programme last night, but on looking it up they all seem to be at least 1m high, not very good in our windy garden, does anyone have this plant and is this right about the height.

I have many and 1m seems right as BA says. I missed the program last night but most of mine are either 1m or 2 m tall. rarely need staking and they are in a windy corridor in the garden.

Aconitum or Monkshood is a mountian plant which is quite sturdy and used to stong winds. Actually, I would have thought that 1m is the minimum height of these.
We have a climbing aconite, Aconitum hemsleyanum, which climbs through shrubs and trees to a height of about 12 feet. It is fully decidous and dies down completely in winter.
