Colourful pots for summer.

Having had more time this year I was determined to make my patio for colourful. I am pleased with the result but feel I was a little heavy with the Lobelia. The first 2 pictures are of Fuschia Flash which has made all this growth this summer, I bought them as plug plants in the Spring

The last one is a Star Jasmine, I have had it for about 5 years and this is the first time it has flowered.

Reading the title I thought that you painted some pots to give them some colour . LOL. I love your pots filled with colour.

They look great. I too decided that a bit more colour in pots would be good and bought some lobelia to fill out around the fuschias and geraniums (pelargoniums) but the peacock loves lobelia and has trimmed it back to about 2 inches tall. I keep moving the pots trying to find a spot he won't eat them and have only two that have actually managed to flower! Perhaps next year I will try the Alyssum!

I find the alyssum doesn't spread like the lobelia, and I can usually collect seedlings from around the garden for free. Another lesson learned, never too old!

I don't think you were too enthusiastic with the lobelia, it looks very pretty. You must be thrilled with the jasmine - wouldn't it be nice if you could add a scent to a blog so we could all enjoy it with you?

Lol Honeysuckle, I bet that isn't on the list of things you can feed peacocks with...

The jasmine doesn't have a very strong scent, I am surprised, maybe not enough flowers to be really scented.

I don't think you've over done the Lobelias. I like the frothy effect they give.
Your pots are nice and colourful. They must brighten up the garden for you :o)
