The first of my seedlings

Well, after all my impatience I arrived home from work today to a great surprise; my seeds have been busy germinating and several little seedlings have popped their heads up through the soil! Yippee!

So far, I have 7 lettuces, 5 cucumbers, a sweetpea (yes just the one so far!) and 3 tomatoes. They are only teeny tiny seedlings but at least I know they’re working!

I think New Year should start after Easter not Christmas, like the tax year. It's a time of re-birth and renewal. I share you're excitement Louise, it's a great feeling.

It really is exciting - people who aren't gardeners simply don't 'get it', do they?

exciting times - good luck with everything.
One word of advice; make sure the greenhouse is well ventilated with some air getting through, . This will stop your seedlings getting too damp. When I first had my greenhouse I lost quite a few cuttings through this.

thanks everyone for joining in and supporting me! i don't get much gardening support at home- i think if my other half had his way the gardens would have all been paved from fence to fence!

just wanted to add- the sweetpea was not a sweetpea after all- i don't actually know what it is. i've put it on here as a question to se eif anybody can identify it!
