It's that time of year again and the Battle Begins!!!!

Good day Gardeners and Friends I came across this tip to deal with slugs and snails. It is a new one on me!
Are snails and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices of cucumber in an aluminium small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminium to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.
If anyone wants to give it a try I would be interested to hear how you got on. In the unrelenting battle against these slimy little critters anything is worth a go….love Maggie x

well it might if you place the aluminium container in the middle of quicksand ;)

Snoop being a bad boy ??
I'll certainly give that a try Maggie . Do you think foil would do it?
I love the picture ; it reminds me of the video for the song "Ugly Bugs Ball ". There was one by Paul McCartney about frogs that was lovely too .

The aluminium pie tin is a bit difficult to understand.
Will inspect my pie tins to ascertain metal correctly.

I actually got this tip from someone in the US. I think that Fray Bentos pie tins, the round ones, might be aluminium otherwise I would suggest foil. I have not tried this myself yet actually but will soon and report back....Maggie x

Pretty sure they aren't Maggie - stick to the foil ones.
