About me

Hi
Just normal gardeners (not experts!) who have run out of ideas. Both retired, and days of double digging are definitely over. Have a really odd shaped area at back of the house, which is tapered. Wider near the house, and the right hand side narrows towards the end of the garden. Currently lawn, with 4 fruit trees at the far end.
Just for a little privacy, we'd like some evergreen screening or hedging along the tapering side. Leylandii are quick, but trimming in a few more years could be a problem. Size is awkward, being almost a wedge shape, but covers roughly 1/3 acre. Is leylandii the only option for screening? Yew too slow and wouldn't want thorns. Any suggestions gratefully received, but know this isn't easy. Tried garden centres, but they say I'd need about 150 trees!
Marrowman.
