This takes the(doggy) biscuit!

Firstly I must apologise to any dog owners on here.Over the past 30 years we have owned 3 dogs but never purposely designed our gardens as ‘dog friendly ’ Ensuring safe boundaries would be one necessary thing to do though. Those hurdles might come in handy after all!!
I couldn’t believe that Monty’s contribution to Chelsea Flower show 2025 is to design a Dog friendly Garden
The RHS dog garden will include daisies, dandilions and clover which are being painstakingly transplanted from RHS Wisley. These will improve the hardiness of the lawn in order to accommodate the dogs! There will be areas where the plants which are less dog friendly will be avoided Include designated areas for dogs to dig in…good luck with that one and provide a shallow stretch of water for cooling off.

Looking at the video of the finished area it seemed to me just short of a semi scrub area.Perhaps when the final version reaches Chelsea there will be a few more softer plantings which have avoided the wagging tails of excitement!

i saw a bit of this on the news and I was speechless.
I have never found Monty interesting and this just made me less interested in what he says.

Having read an article about it I'm glad I won't have paid good money for RHS Chelsea Flower Show if this is what is included!

I quote: There's a glorified doghouse with a big squashy sofa with the stuffing spilling out and a TV for the dog!

The horticulturist involved in this, a James Butterworth, said it's not a deeply serious garden - it's playful.

I was baffled watching GW and this was his plan. I love cats and dogs, having a border collie growing up and now a cat..but, this was definitely not one for me. I’ve grown more and more disinterested in Monty and his ideas and advice. I don’t like his garden and Adam Frost was brill the week before, presenting.
