Tamarix

Whilst visiting the local nursery today I noticed they were selling Tamarix trees…about 18 ins tall.
Is anyone growing it at the moment and have they had success?
Photo below shows a mature one growing at the nursery.

Yes Julia, a Tamarix tree was already in the garden when we came here. Over the years it grew very large and I had it pruned about 3 years ago. It's about 6ft tall now and just about finished flowering.

I had one in a previous garden, nice leaves as well as the flowers

You have to check with the variety, they can spread via underground suckers and pop up anywhere

Just a word of caution really, don't let it stop you, just be aware if you are thinking of maybe having it near a bowling green type lawn for instance

Beautiful photo. They are lovely shrubs but I haven’t room for one.
