Walk to the bottom of Chepstow town.

This area runs alongside the ’ muddy’ River Wye..
becomes prettier as it winds its way towards the Wye Valley! On a lucky day Sammy, the seal can be seen splashing around in the river.
Area is dotted with many tables and chairs…people enjoying with a very reasonable cup of coffee!
The Old Wye Bridge separating Wales from England is a stone’s throw…it is the longest iron arch road bridge remaining from pre Victorian times.Opened July 24th 1816.Now we have a bypass. It’s hard to imagine the horse drawn carts using it in that era.
There are pleasant grassy areas around one of which boasts a bandstand where they have many performances.

Interesting history Julia. So, the houses across the river (in your pictures are in Wales??
It is a lovely looking spot (from your pictures). I would love to go there too and have a nice cup of coffee and watch Sammy.
Thanks for posting.
