Thanks everyone for your lovely comments, I think george has moved on ,not seen him for a while now joanelle. The toadstool/frogstool has lost all its colour,but can't throw him away. my hubby sorts the soil out, he dug in a lot of sand,bark and compost.I think the greenhouse stops a lot of the wind harming the acers and the weather has not been to bad here.
