I have a south facing garden, about a third of an acre. The front is a mess! We have a tree preservation order on all 7 trees and they make it impossible to grow decent grass and also anything else. I would like a good hedge but the ground is a mass of tree roots.

I have a vegetable garden at the side of the house where I grow all the usual and the unusual. I am gradually changing the back garden so that it becomes more of a discovery than the traditional lawn and floral borders. I want to start incorporating statues and water. I want a swimming pool but my husband doesn't!!

I am a 50 something in Surrey. I have my own business and enjoy photography, gardening, reading and horse riding I also do riding for the disabled. We are very lucky and have a house in Turkey where we are learning to garden in extreme weather conditions. My husband hates gardening and I would be out there all day if allowed. I have an apple tree, pear tree, apricot and cherry in the back garden, a hornbeam, and a couple of pittisporums.
