Well it’s Sunday and I’ve just been driven in by the promised rain – at 7.30 this morning it was very misty so made a coffee and went out to do some clearing out of dead and sad plants!! A good friend who has a north facing walled garden that is filled with fantastic ferns, tree ferns and a variety of green shade loving plants, has become the proud owner of a little West Highland terrier!!! well you may know that they dig all the time as if trying to get to Australia.!!! sadly many of the exotica she has in her garden bare poisonous seeds & berries so lucky me has benefited – I have now some large specimens transplanted over the last couple of months – lucky for me they have all survived, the latest is a wonderful standard Rhodedendron – I was hoping to plant it this morning in a very large tub I have – no luck while this rain continues!!! so here I am chatting to you and putting off domestic stuff!!!
Bye the way many thanks for all the messages of welcome and also for the advice on my Arum lily. Still cannot get over the friendly people on here – still as you’re all gardeners – I shouldn’t be too surprised – getting your hands in the soil makes you feel fantastic and it spreads!!

Aren't you lucky your neighbour had that dog. Hope you'll be able to get the rhododendron planted soon. It's nice to chat.

Some people just get lucky, don't they - and this time it's you! Congratulations on your gifts from next door. I hope they thrive. You'll have to invite your neighbour in for tea to see them sometimes!

Hi i would like to say welcome aswell, i've enjoyed reading your blog, its started raining here now, but although it was cloudy this morning i've managed to get all my garden furniture covered up, and like you i'm now stuck in front of my laptop, talking to all of you, but have to admit i enjoy talking to all of you.
