Cold fronts, cats, and fire!

We had our first decent “cold front” come through today and temperatures dropped below 60 deg for the high..
I had a few old firelogs in the garage and fired up the fireplace for the first time this year. The fire had a great “coal base” that produced a TON of heat in the living room:
One thing that I noticed is when you have indoor cats and build a warm fire, the cats get totally lazy and flop anywhere:
Smokey Boy and Trouble were total “road-kill” on the sofa tonight! The big boys had no interest in moving and just flopped, absorbed the warmth, and relaxed.. {chuckle}
Earlier today, they had been bouncing off the walls, attacking things and playing like most cats do but when the fire started getting hot and warmed up the living room, the cats just flopped and became total “road-kill” on the couch.
That’s ’ma Boys!

Pretty cool here in Houston as well, it's a relief after all the heat and humidity! Haven't dropped to the 20s the lowest we've been has been 41 F. Your cats are cute!

Raquel, I lived in Clear Lake back in the 70s and I remember all the heat and humidity. We went swimming every day (I had that luxury, my poor parents didn't!). And we had thunderstorms every single afternoon. I think it was worse than Georgia.

We are getting that cold front, too....tommorrow night's lows are expected to be in the 20s! It rained and was cold today, only in the upper 50s. But the cats are all snuggled up on my bed for warmth & nobody's bickering for once, plus I get the benefit of all that kitty heat. Back into the 70s on Monday, thank goodness.
