Bunny in heat!

We have had a few new cotton-tail bunnies born in my gardens this summer and they are fun to watch. This one is named “lee-doe” because he’s the smallest of the litter.
Today, the little guy was sprawled out in the freshly watered dirt attempting to cool off a bit.
Here in Texas, we are on day 38 of a 100+ deg heat-wave and it is getting hard to keep the crops and the native critters alive. The birds have been gathering at the base of my sprinklers and frolicking in the water to stay cool as is this little rabbit:
The little fellow just loves it when I water an area and he has a cool place to “flop”. {chuckle}

I've tried to provide a totally organic echo-system for my plants and my wild critters over the last 4 years and it looks like it is starting to work rather well despite the intense heat that we are having this summer.
My corn failed and the green beans failed, but most of the other plants are thriving despite the heat...
The wild animals have been gathering in my backyard because I have lots of native "food" growing and have a container of water on the ground that I keep filled..
I just LOVE my "critters"!
