'April Showers'

Quite a cold day some hail as well and a north wind, only inside work today I fear.
Happily I have managed to plant everything that I wanted
this past week . Still have plenty to do re-arranging the back garden as we recently took down 2 small sheds so now have loads of space mostly for Archie to run around in, new fence to put up for a windbreak as we suffer a lot of strong winds here on the coast and hopefully a summerhouse (sit-ootery) as wee say here in N.E.Scot.so lots to be going on with .
I have a Zantedeschia rebmannii(pink arum) or so it said on the label because in the six or so years I’ve had it there has never been a flower and its been inside and outside and had all sorts fed to it all to no avail so it has been spit up into single rhizomes, planted into 6" pots and they are going to be baked in the greenhouse in a last ditch attempt and if that doesn’t work I will just enjoy them for their lovely foliage ,wish me luck !

Cold and snowing here this morning, too. Not a day for gardening here, either. But the good spell we had in March let me get on with the usual spring work early, so it is ok.
Hope this weather warms up a bit soon.

You will enjoy having a new space to play with. That's always fun to plan. It changes the flow of the garden.

I have only ever got a white outdoor, supposedly hardy Zantedescia to flower once and that was the bud that was on it when I bought it!

Sunshine and showers here, it has rained everyday since the ban came into force but must not grumble because we need it to get our water reserves stocked up, its still good to get out when able, even if only for a few mins.
Enjoy rearranging your garden.........

Hi Ojibway I have successfully grown white arums outside
for 13 years ,they are planted out in the garden and over winter very well ,even through the last few bad winters.
We are only about half a mile from the sea so rarely get very severe ground frosts which probably helps.
I don't tidy the dead leaves off of them till I see new growth in spring untidy but effective, they are greedy feeders though.
The pink arum was another mothers day gift so it would be nice to be able to see the flower, even if only the once:)

Thanks Lincslass good that you are getting that much needed rain it's an ill divided world is it not, up here we have all the water we need just now and some, wouldn't it be good if we could have rain all night and dry during the day , aah the perfect world!!!
As to the re-arranging my mind is in overdrive much to OHs consternation:))))
