Latest exertion - back aching job

This is what I have been up to in the last couple of days. I made a decision to split the vegetable patch up. Two reasons, so I can dig it a small section at a time and so that I can cane it and net it to keep off those pesky pigeons. I thought it would be easier to handle the netting and the control of weeds if I portioned it up. Time will tell.
It had become overgrown with nettles and weeds and they do take quite a lot of digging out. This is my second barrow load of rubbish to come out of the garden. It is hard work but it is the satisfaction you feel when you have completed the job that make it all worthwhile. Only two more partitions to go. Phew I am tired just thinking about the job.

and this is where I sat and enjoyed a cuppa after all that digging. lol.

No more digging done today – had a walk around a GC – amazingly I did not buy anything. Must be going down with some dreaded lurgy. lol. But I did have a good browse and then went back home to get my feet up. All this lovely sunshine makes you want to get out in the garden and do the work the only trouble is that I have to limit myself now because it is so tiring, old age has started to creep up on me. All together now AHHHHH!

Thats a good idea. It should definitely be easier to manage. I know the feeling,, so much you want to do and then we do too much and suffer for it.

Yes Cinderella that is just how I have been in the past. When the sunshines I want to be out there and I pay for it for the following week. It takes much longer these days to recover from digging in the garden.

It certainly does.

Hi Oliveoil - It will be much easier to manage for you - let's hope it will keep the pigeons etc off too.

The area where you sit in your garden looks very nice - what a bonus to have a lovely view to look at in between the hard work.

Well done and take it easy.

Good idea to break the veg garden into smaller plots. It will be easier for you now. You deserve a nice cuppa :)

I know what you mean about wanting to get out there in the warm sunshine ... you will certainly find it easier to drape netting over in smaller areas ... I speak from experience from having an allotment in the past! Your table & chairs look the perfect spot for a relaxing cuppa too. : o ))

It will be a lot easier for you now Olive, I can see you have been hard at it, I think lots of us do the same thing, we enjoy ourselves whilst out there and suffer the aches afterwards, I even forget to eat, lol.
Lovely place to relax and enjoy a well earned cuppa...
