Hywel
Thanks
I have sown the seed into trays of good quality soil.
why I ask, I did this some two weeks ago but no sign of germination
I did put them in a freezer as suggested a week before sowing
Perhaps they take longer than anything else or am I being impatient.

Sounds like night time slugs.

I think we're talking about two different plants here.
Do you mean Delphiniums ? I'm sorry if I got confused. I thought you meant the annual Larkspur - Consolida.
When I grew Delphiniums, I seem to remember they did take a while to germinate ... although I didn't put them in the freezer.
And I believe they are also called 'Larkspur'
Now you can see why I always prefer to use the botanical names of plants - it saves confusion :o)
I'd keep them at the temperature it sais on the packet. Some seeds take a long time.

Yes it's the delphinium (larkspur)
Followed the seed sowing instructions , sow spring time heated greenhouse etc.
I will have to be patient

Yes, it's an easy annual to grow from seeds. Just sprinkle the seeds, cover with fine compost and water. Wait for them to grow. It is easy to sew them in the spot where they are to flower.
