our decking

well after sorting out the sleepers etc we moved onto the decking area this was going to be a 8×8 area just outside the patio doors ( well that soon changed lol )we started off with 35 decking boards, peter and ashlee (daughter) then set about making the timber frame, once this was complete they then fixed the decking boards down,we then needed to add the finishing touches we needed an edge to the decking and couldnt decide wether to put a hand rail round or something similar.peter then deciced to build a planter come storage
to add the finishing touch.

we now had somewhere to store our patio furniture for the winter months and display our plants for all to see (perfect).
after finishing the 8×8 decking and planter we felt it needed a little bit more so we decided to extend a path up the garden to join the sleepers and the entrance to the shingle area,so off to the shop to buy more decking boards, after completing the path,we added soft lights to this and the planters as a finishing touch.we then thought it would be nice to add a couple of steps and a little path(at the edge of the planter)that led to the shed also as this was an un-even area it would also level it out.
after this i went away for a couple of days for a rest lol and while i was gone peter decided as a surprise he would build a planter along the edge of the conservatory and up the side of the garden along the fence.this also added an edge to the actual patio, and gave a different shape to an area we didnt quite know what to do with.we also needed a way to disguise the parasol base we did this by building a decking frame around it and filling it with shingle to cover the large slabs holding it in place (this worked a treat).

You have worked hard in your garden, Peter has done a great job with the decking and planters. Is that pansies you have planted in them? How lovely they'll look once they get going.
