aches and pains

It’s been a month since I last wrote on here, I’m shocked to discover. Basically, this is because I’ve been so busy gardening that I haven’t had time to do much else, which is good news. I’ve spent the last few works in a garden nearby, laying a paved area at the rear of the house, building a little retaining wall, clearing a large area at the side of the house, and transforming the front garden. It has been really satisfying, and great to see results already. New plants have really made all the difference, although of course the hard landscaping is what takes the most time. I’ll add some before and after photos when the new planting is established.

I’ve found that a day passes very quickly when you’re doing something that you love, and that even mundane tasks like mowing large areas of lawn become an opportunity to plan a new look for a garden, as you see the layout from all angles.

I’ve also discovered that having the client on site most of the time is good, because it means you can continually check their requirements. It’s bad because they can continually change their requirements!

After such a prolonged absence, I really should have more to write, but I have to get out into my garden now – it’s been a bit neglected for the last fortnight.
