another pic of my sweetpeas because they seem to get better and better,
Comments on this photo
when they got about half way up the fence and netting they started to flop so i took some garden string across to support them, feed them each week and cut flowers off which encourages more flowers, keep well watered, easy really

Would like some of your cuttings, I think the boss can find a space in the garden !
25 Jul, 2009
hi mick i think you can only take cuttings when young plant in the same season, you can grow from seed then take cuttings when about 4 leaf high, so if you would like some seed pods just pm your address and i will send you some happily :o))
25 Jul, 2009
Dont blame you keep taking photos of them, i keep taking photos of my standard rose.

My sweetpeas are little things..lol..yours are so large and lovely. Mine are definately not as happy
26 Jul, 2009
lol shay...i just feed every week and keep cutting flowers, these have done well but i have some in a pot which havent been as good, take all the clingers off to that arent clinging to anything that encourages flowers
26 Jul, 2009
Mine are in a pot. Maybe I can get some seeds and try again next year though in the ground.
Thanks for the tips though :) I'll cut off all those non-clingers and give them some more food. :)
27 Jul, 2009
good luck shaylaina :o)

Fantastic display of sweetpeas San...well done :))
27 Jul, 2009
cheers Di, ones in pot didnt do well at all, these have been wonderfull
27 Jul, 2009
They need a deep root run, so always do better in a border, rather than a pot,if you've got the space to grow 'em . Love them...they are one of my favourite summer flowers :)))
27 Jul, 2009
well least i know now Di, love the scent to ummmmm
27 Jul, 2009
They're gorgeous San, what do you feed them with? I didn't realise you got more flowers if you picked them, I've been waiting for more before I pick!!! Duh!!!
28 Jul, 2009
i feed them on tomatoe liquid feed, normally once a week but with all the rain now no point, also found better in borders not pots, the ones in pot didnt do anything, they like lots of room i was told, pick the creepers off that arent hanging onto anything and pick some flowers this will encourage more, good luck madperth :o) also when they got tall i took garden string across for suport, no backbone in stems to keep upright
29 Jul, 2009
Thanks hon, I'll need to check what's in the tomato feed,
VERY allergic to tomatoes! I'll think of something!
Off out to pick sweet peas while its dry!
29 Jul, 2009
ok madperth but cant see there actually being any tomatoe matter in there just neatrients which help tomatoes grow, but best be on the safe side :o)
29 Jul, 2009
I found some plant food in the cupboard (didn't remember buying it) so I'll use that. Of course there wont be tomato in the tomato feed, what was I thinking? I now have a bunch of sweet peas & lavender beside my pc, lovely!!
29 Jul, 2009
thats great madperth, they smell lovely to, hope you get lots more :o)
