Butterfly on my Tithonia

I can't imagine having these exotic butterflies in the garden, it looks like a Swallowtail Jerrie.....beautiful!

Pansypotter, I really wish it were a perennial, I would have tons of them. Well, they get 7 ft tall and 3 ft around , so on second thought, I'd have a few of them...lol.

OMG now I knew things were always bigger in the US but 7 ft x 3ft butterflies ..

Hmmmm - do you think Tithonia would grow in teh Uk?

I don't know Sid, I can send you some seeds to find out, that way if they don't grow well there, they wouldn't cost you anything besides the potting soil you planted them in.

That's very kind of you F1, but it would cost you so much in postage! Don't worry - I'll do some research and find out if they'll grow here and if they do I'm bound to be able to get some seed from somewhere. They look well worth growing! They do look vaguely familier, so I think maybe I have seem them over here............ thanks again!
