or does one group of flowers die at the same time another blooms ?

I'm guessing the flowers last 3 - 6 days before they drop...depending on weather conditions. It has been very hot here...generally the flowers need the heat for a good bloom, however, high heat also shortens the life of most flowers. If that makes sense. : > )

Yes, hot weather shortens the time of bloom for some flowers in the UK...so it does make sense... :o)

Delonix...our poinsettia is doing really well.Covered in healthy new green bracts,and bushing out nicely.Keep it on the dry side then give it a good soak,which it seems to like ! So end of September will be following your previous instructions...into the dark ! Am really surprised to have got this far with it...previous ones have just bit the dust in January ! Thanks again for your advice !

Hot weather shortens the flower's life especially when temps. go above 90 degrees F. / 33 degrees C. It has been hotter than that for the last month here.

You're so lucky! We've had horrible hot and humid weather! However, tonight it's finally getting back to normal temps. YAY! Although it's only suppose to last 3 days...then the hot and humid returns again! Oh well, then I'll be in hotter and more humid Hawaii. LOL!
