It is a great spot - whenever I hear the sound of the wind through she-oaks now, I am transported back to this beach which was my favourite when I was growing up.

Thanks Youngdaisydee. This was the scene just last weekend down in my home town - towards the end of winter the town gets a lot of tourists from the southern states who are escaping the cold weather.

Wonderful place ....

~ it certainly looks the place to be~it it wasn't for the 24 hour flights and the cost of getting half way round the world....I do think that is why you are getting less of us these days!

I don't expect you see any snow there in your winter lol :-)

No snow whatsoever up here Richardpeeej - we have to travel down to Victoria and Tasmania to see snow. Up here our coldest daytime winter temperature so far has been 23 degrees C, our coldest night-time winter temp. has been 18 degrees C!!! Not really what you might call a winter.

Who cares what variety it is in that kind of setting? It's so beautiful, I wouldn't even stop to think about it. :-P
