sorry to hear that Eileen~
~there is a new retail development near Llanelli where I work which opened up last year at the expense of all the town centre shops like M and S, Smith's etc relocating~it is like a ghost town now in the centre.
There is this brand new expensive Quiksilver store there and it is not much of a surfy or trendy place to open so when we popped in the other day they have racks and racks of unsold stuff at half price~don't think that is going to be there much longer.
However there is a brand new Animal store opening in the centre of Swansea tomorrow which is UK made so correspondingly cheaper ~that might just be okay. The problem with a lot of the American and imported stuff is that they just change the $ sign to pounds and mostly have got away with that until now when people like my kids are just saying I'm not paying that!

Arlene that is what it was like here the last few yrs. English prices were on the tages and we were paying more than double for the stuff. now a lot of shops are giving the same Euro to Sterling rate

To coin a phrase “rip off Ireland” the tables have turned, at last we are seeing a change in the wind – retailers etc have dropped their prices esp., UK retailers, Tesco etc have matched euro for sterling – however that said we have now the new 2% tax levy so any savings we make we pay it back via the levy – so me for one is going to cross the border for my messages – right or wrong I need to feed the family so enough said ….. Don’t get me started on health service

lol ok Angie, health service is out of bounds otherwise we would never stop lol
