I love that - much broader leaves than the cordylines we grow here and the colour is fantastic - am I right in thinking it won't grow here (not that I've ever seen it for sale anyway)
Just checked online and it is available - in Australia!!

Bamboo, I think this one is relatively new over here - so you never know, it will probably be available there very soon. I also have the cordyline fruticosa 'Chocolate Swirl' which is another of the darker broader leaf corylines but is a miniature form. Look out for that one too - it's lovely.

This is such a fantastic looking plant with its lovely colour and broad leaves.

I cannot understand why in my opinion cordyline have become increasing popular here. I have removed 4 small ones from the Dell at one of my gardens today due to their deterioration, as we had really heavy snow this year!!! Only have two left now!!! I really dont think we have the climate to get the best out of them here...lol.x

PS Nice plant by the way

They certainly thrive over here Lonegardener - I've had a few in my gardens over many years and find they always look good and need little care - just as occasional clean-up of the dying leaves. This is a new purchase as I just loved the dark colour - so much more interesting than the greens and reds that seem so prolific.

I agree Berni the dark one s not only show up well but also highlight lighter colours too!

So right, Pansypotter. I love these in amongst white flowering plants.

In fairness the irrigation was slightly at fault for part of the year, so i guess maybe the winter temps, and then lack of water... I will persevere and already have 2 to put in as replacements.

Fantastic plant by the way...lol

Hope the replacement cordylines come through for you - I just love their structure and have always had them in my garden.

Has just gone into my faves, Bern, and the mere mention of "Chocolate Swirl" has me almost in orbit. Will have to look into this - Thank You!

Thanks David - this one is just a stand-out in the garden and everyone comments about it. I'll have to remember to take a photo of the chocolate swirl - it's still a youngster but I'm sure it will show up well anyway.
