Supposedly the hardiest of the dark-leaved varieties of loropetalum, I am taking no chances with this one (having lost other varieties in both the last two winters) and am growing it in a bottomless pot to be lifted and brought indoors this time. Perversely, it is flowering now (instead of late winter/early spring)

My mum has just bought 4 plants, 3 yrs old & in 2ltr pots. Read your other blog re the plant on google! I will be giving 1 plant to my boyfriend, leave 1 at my mum's-planted in the ground with protection & x fingers for the 2 I bring to my home, may have to get a fleece or two out after what I have read..trial & error eh!!
