A plant, new to cultivation, that I bought from Crug Farm in the spring. Needs a shady spot in a humusy soil and has grown about fifteen inches tall and wide so far. Early growth may attractive to slugs

I bought a whole load of copper rings from www.greengardener.co.uk in the spring - slugs won't cross copper as they get an electric shock. Vulnerable plants have a ring around them and it has worked so far
