Sunflower seeds? I do like the smell of them drying out in the oven, must admit. Right now, though, I want a deep-fried steak pie 'n' chips from the chippy - but, of course, they are all closed! :-(

I wonder who "names" plant varieties. This is just like any other dwarf sunflower, after all. I think I was one of those "suckers" who fell for the trendy "chocolate" name. We have, however, decided here that the dwarf varieties, with their multiple flowers, are far more interesting, better value, and easier to look at than the 10ft and over ones, heehee!

They Shoulda bred one with my fave choc cosmos & gave you a brown one!

There are a few totally brown sunflower varieties! Go down to the Encyclopedia, click the letter S or type in sunflower, and you'll see pics - I know, coz I "edit" that page, lol! My fave is a variety called "Black Magic", but didn't find the seeds this year. :-)

But you coulda had a CHOCOLATE one!
Black magic is good tho!

Sorry, but can't find ,in time, and grow, every chocolate-named plant under the (noticeably absent) sun - they would've melted anyway, like the Indian Prince's chocolate palace, lol!
