It looks purple here (probably the gloom) but it's REALLY blue!! I have another pic of it up.

One of your cheese shopping day plants M. its loking welland flowering nicely already. Now for the bad news if its the new plant then pull all the flowers off it so as to direct all the plants energies to root making foer a strong plant to survive a wet claggy soil winter, it will do much better next year for it!

No - you can leave them until they finish flowering - then cut the seed heads off. :-) Did you dig a lot of organic stuff into the soil before you planted it? They are greedy plants.

Whew! That's a relief! I've brought 2 in because they had snapped with the wind.
Yep! They are each in their own little island of lovely well-rotted compost, & I dug some sand into the clay underneath too!
