Thanks everyone ! I was wondering the same thing Janey when I was thumbing through the picture section of my insect book, trying to identify it. But it was after midnight and I was sleepy.... I decided that I wasn't THAT curious...lol I did check it out this morning and found the dragonfly got the "widow" name because the male doesn't stay near the female after she lays the eggs unlike other species.

Thanks Gardengnome, I really thought this one was the White Tail, I've photographed before in the garden. I'm glad I got this pic, as it turned out to be a different dragonfly I didn't know we had, with similar wing markings.
