No, it was just the variety I planted! This is "Pastiche" - they range from palest yellow through to chocolate.

Suey, I'll be growing them again, they're good because they produce lots of flowers on each plant.

Aah.....chocolate..... There is a dark variety of sunflower called "Black Magic". :-)
